Frequently asked questions

Are virtual appointments an option?

Video appointments are offered when clinically appropriate.

Do both parents need to provide consent for services, even if parents are separated?

Yes. Parents with joint legal custody share equal rights in consenting to medical treatment for their children unless otherwise noted in a custody or divorce court order. Both parents must understand the scope of the services requested, and consent to proceeding before services can be provided.

What is the fee?

In line with the BC Psychological Association recommendation, the fee is $250 per 50 minute session. Assessments are billed per hour of time - please inquire for specifics.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Psychology services are not covered by the Medical Services Plan, but are covered through some extended health insurance plans. Please contact your insurance provider in advance of any appointments to determine what is covered. At this time, direct billing to insurance providers is not available.

What payment types are accepted?

Payment is accepted by credit card or e-transfer. An official receipt is issued for all payments, which may be submitted to your extended health insurer.

What is the cancellation policy?

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please advise the office at least 48 hours prior to a therapy appointment, or 2 weeks prior to an assessment appointment . This allows for time for the time slot to be offered to other clients waiting for services. Late cancellations or missed appointments are billed at the regular clinical rate.
